This morning, I finished reading "A long way gone" by Ishmael Beah. What an amazing journey for Mr. Beah, and what a terrible thing is war. His portrayal of desperate uncaring soldiers with bloodshot eyes who kill on a whim is evocative and will stay with me for some time.
Also potent is his description of the journey from Sierra Leone to neigboring Guinea during wartime which helps to put a face on the journeys of refugees that we read about in the news almost every day.
